My top three tips for hosting a successful event for 20-70 guests:
- Market it well: send invites early, pique guests’ interest, increase communication the week before the event.
- Ensure at least 3 – 4 elements of the event are “to theme”. For example, for a 90s Kids Party theme, include a colouring in station, party packs, nostalgic snacks, and balloons.
- Ensure there is one activity that will bring everyone together about ¾ of the way through the event. This is the event’s high point and provides an opportunity for speeches, if relevant. Using the 90 Kids Party example, this can be “Pass the Parcel” with all guests encouraged to join.
